Importance of understanding about physical health

Physical health is defined as a condition of taking into consideration everything from the absence of disease to fitness level. Physical health is achieved by maintaining fitness and health through exercise and proper nourishment.

Having good physical health improves an individual’s overall health and reduces the chance of becoming sick. Watching what you put into your body, how much activity you get, and your weight is important for keeping your body working properly. 

Positive health habits can help decrease your stress, lower  risk of disease, and in your energy and it also helps in faster recovery when an individual has been unwell. However, a lack of sleep, drinking alcohol, an inactive lifestyle, eating unhealthy food etc are really effective for your physical health and some cases might turn you into a serious condition.

These are some strategies for improving your physical health:

  • Get Active: Sedentary behavior usually means sitting or lying down for too long or being inactive all day long and it is not really a good deal. To increase your activity you should try:

_  Take the stairs instead of the elevator

_ Rearrange your home so you can stand upright or walk on

_ Set an alarm on your computer to go off every hour and prompt you to move around for a minute or two.

_ Have small weights in your office or around your home for doing arm exercises.

_ Park your vehicle at the far end of the street or parking lot.

  • Maintain your body: Your bones, muscles and joints all work together to make your body an amazingly movable machine, so if you do not let your body move, your body is like a dead body.  To keep your body healthier:

_ Stay active all week long

_ Wear comfortable, properly fitting shoes.

_Eat a well-balanced diet. Get enough calcium and vitamin D daily to protect your bones.

_ Try to avoid lifting heavy objects. If you need to lift something heavy, bend your knees and keep your back straight.

_ Maintain a healthy weight. Too much weight can make your hip and knee ache.

  • Find a healthy weight: keeping your body at a healthy weight may help you lower your risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer. All you have to do is eat healthily like eating smaller portions, go easy on fats and oils, limit added sugars and last but not least, do not forget to eat green vegetables and fish.
  • Mind your metabolism: Your metabolism changes as you get older, you burn fewer calories and you also lose lean muscle, but exercise and carrying those extra pounds may be harming your health. To combat age related changes

_Commit to a healthy diet

_Limit snacking

_Drink plenty of water

_Get plenty of sleep

_Limit alcohol use

_Avoid smoking

  • Build healthy habits: Maybe you’ve already tried to eat better, get more exercise or sleep, quit smoking, or reduce stress it’s not easy, but let’s try to fill your time with healthy activities. Try exercising, doing your favorite hobby, or spending time with family and friends. Reward yourself. Give yourself a healthy reward when you’ve achieved a small goal or milestone, like a massage.

Physical health is really a matter for us. To have good physical health, please have a balanced diet, proper sleep, and cutting down unhealthy habits such as smoking, alcohol, and drugs and those are some of the keys for physical health.
